David Fairbanks, chairman of the Punahou Board of Trustees and chair of the presidential search committee said in a statement after ! the hiring decision that, "Jim Scott is a fine teacher, educator and t respected leader. Scott graduated from Punahou in 1970 and went on to receive a ; degree in political science from Stanford University, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in administration. planning and social policy from Harvard. His work credentials include a successful term as headmaster at the Catlin Gabel School in Portland Oregon, and an eight-year term as teacher and academic dean at the Robert Louis Stevenson SchooI in Pebble Beach, Califomia.
